DALLAS (November 1, 2006) – Whitney International University System (Whitney) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Ron Perkinson to the position of Senior Vice President, Education Development. For the past six years Ron has been the Principal Education Specialist for the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group. Ron has had a global oversight of IFC investments in education projects that include universities, technical and vocational institutions, schools, education technologies, distance education and e-learning projects in developing countries. Ron has been well known as a plenary speaker at many international conferences on behalf of IFC and the World Bank Group presenting on developing knowledge societies, the global education marketplace, cost, quality, accessibility, innovative financing and the changing landscape ahead for international higher education.

Ron is a New Zealander who has held positions at Chief Executive and Director level in large multinational service industries in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, spanning more than 20 years. In 2000 Ron was seconded to the World Bank Group to assist with the establishment of IFC's new Global Health & Education Group, focusing on private education projects in developing economies.
